- Grades close today and progress reports will be sent home on Wednesday. Thank you for responding to my conference requests. I feel it is important to meet in person to discuss your child. With us working together we can provide the best educational environment for him/her. Look for a confirmation slip in your child's Friday Folder. Thank you again.
- Please consider filling out the Survey Works survey either online or we can send you a hard copy. It doesn't take that long and it is important to the school. The deadline is December 11th. Thank you.
- In math we are multiplying lagers numbers using base ten. Students are doing well this this concept. They are also working together to solve word problems on chart paper. This is great practice for concepts taught during the lesson. The concepts for Module 2 are: Mental Strategies for multi-digit number multiplication and division, standard algorithm for multi-digit whole number multiplication and division, decimal multi-digit multiplication and division and measurement word problems for multi-digit multiplication and division examples. More information as we learn each skill.
- In reading we are focusing on Main Idea. Students are working in stations using non-fiction articles and leveled books to determine the Main Idea and the Details that support it. Next week they will be reading more complex texts that contain more than one Main Idea.
- In Science this week students watched several Discovery Education videos about the layers of the earth. They also completed a pre and post test about this concept. Today they are working independently to "show what they know" by reading a non-fiction article about Layers of the Earth and completing a worksheet for understanding. We will continue this topic next week.
