Weekly News - Update

  • WOW !!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it is May! This week has been very busy. It was Reading Week and we have had many visitors. They boys and girls have enjoyed listening to and learning all about our guests. Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to read to the fifth graders. Because of Reading Week our class schedule has changed and therefore I will be sending Friday Folders home next week.
  • In Reading this week students enjoyed listening to story read by our guest readers. They also wrote an essay about "The world would be a better place if..." They had to write about one thing they would change and give specific details to support and explain their reasons for changing one thing about the world.
  • In math we began Module 4 on Multiplying and Dividing Fractions. Students are learning how to write division expressions, writing the expression as a fraction, answering the expression in improper form and mixed number form, an finally using the standard algorithm. More information as we delve into this module.
As always thank you for your continued support. I think spring has finally sprung. Enjoy the warm weather this weekend!
