Weekly News -Update

  • This week students completed an online survey (Survey Works from RIDE). A letter with the codes for parents to take the survey were sent home this week. Please consider taking the time to complete the survey The information from the survey only helps to make our school a successful place for learning.
  • Progress Reports will be sent home in early December. At which time we will be holding Parent Conferences. I will be sending home conference forms in a couple of weeks.
  • In Reading students practiced Main Idea and Details. They read a story, Sees Behind Trees, from the Trophies Reading Series. We had a great class discussion on our senses and how to compensate when a person no longer has one sense. On Friday they will take and end of selection test based on the story. Students also had several mini lessons about different centers in our Literacy Workshop.
  • In Math students continued to practice division of decimals. They also learned to write answers in standard form and unit form (Example: standard form - 0.36 / 3 = 0.12, unit form 36 hundredths / 3 ones = 12 hundredths). Students are at different levels of understanding in the presentation of Eureka Math's concepts. We will continue to practice so that students have the opportunity to master division of decimals.
  • The next at home project will be sent home next week. Students will be writing a report about an Early American Tribe. They will also be making an artifact relating to their chosen tribe
  • The before school math program will begin on Thursday. Thank you for signing your child up. The program can only help to make your child a stronger student.
Have a restful weekend! As always thank you for your continued support rom the homefront..
