Weekly - News Update

• It is hard to believe that the second trimester has come to an end. Grades close today and progress reports will be sent home on Wednesday.
• This week in math students finished up Module two on division, long division and division of decimals. Monday we will begin Module 3. This is a short unit that covers equivalent fractions, as well as addition and subtraction of fractions. More information next week.
• In Literacy this week students continued with Persuasive Writing. Students brainstormed ideas and began to write their introduction, body and conclusion. The final copy is due next Friday. Our read aloud is Island of the Blue Dolphins. Please ask them to tell you about the main character, setting and plot.
• In Science students are working on their Natural Disaster charts. Many of them are doing a very creative job. This in class project should be finished within the next several weeks. Students will present their charts to the class for discussion.
• Friday Folders will be going home today. Please look for several important notices.
